Any good places to buy tubes and transformers off the shelf in Los Angeles? Apex and Apex jr are great for sockets and resistors and wire. I have yet to find a good source of the other parts on the shelf.

What are you looking for?
Both my brother and myself carry tubes and transformers in stock. Steve |

I live in the valley and, while I am not a dealer at present, do have a pile of parts, mostly NOS, that would love to go to someone who can use them.

I'm looking for SE output transformers in the 10 - 15 watt 5k area of decent quality (edcor not Tamura). Gotne?
Apex jr, I see you have a 5v at 14A, that would be like hunting mice with a M1 tank, anything smaller? PS Steve, I used to buy from you twenty+ years ago while you were still at your Dad's in Sun Valley! You always had something cool hidden away that you would surprise me with! |

You might have to do a little research but here are just a few of the
transformers I have in stock, some are just 1 ea and some 2-3 only. Output Stancor A 3877 Single 5K Ohm Plate to 4 Ohm 40Ma 5W Thordanson 22S21 4K to 8 -16-32 Ohm Filament; Stancor P 6466 6.3Vct at 2 A Magnatek FS10-110 10Vct .11A - 5V .22A Triad F38A 6.3V 1A, 5Vct 2A, 5V 4 A, 6.3V 5A and 6.3Vct 5A I thought I had a 5V 10A but can't seem to find since my move. plus I'm sure there's more on the shelves, you might want to call and stop by, and really see what I have. Most of my transformers are filament, plate, and solid state voltages, and a few chokes and low level transformers. Some unmarked - I'd have to weigh them to guess the power output. Not so easy with multiple secondaries.

Last year I was in LA and checked out numbers of tube suppliers - I can highly recommend Darcell (ElectronTube.com, the Internet Store for DARCELL) and I bought a fair quantity of tubes from them. Alex and Peggy are really great people ( Alex is the late Bo Diddley's cousin!!) and were very helpful
