Default 6DQ6 for audio power amp?

Hi all-
I got a good haul of tubes this weekend, and had 4 of these 6DQ6 tubes. Anyone ever seen these used for audio power amplifiers? And schematics floating around?
Thanks in advance.

Glenn

Greetings from Binghamton, NY!
There are schematics floating around the Internet that use the 6DQ6's. I believe they are in the 30w range. Here is a link that might help:

Thanks Ray, good reading.
I should probably have mentioned Hi-Fi and not guitar amps, but the reading is still interesting.
I thought these would make a nice low powered PP stereo amp for me to play around with. I know they are a TV tube, but they should do pretty well as an audio amp tube with that type of anode rating!

The "red board" uses sweep tubes and can be used as a guide. Personally I think that sweep tubes make great audio amplifiers. If I can be of any help, please feel free to email me @ rsumperl@hhk.com

I have a warm spot in my heart for this tube as it's the first I used as a ham radio transmitter.

By "Red Board" -- do you mean: DCPP Amp

this may help - specs for outputs between 34W and 84W using the 6DQ6-A in AB1 pp. No schematics though, but not diffcult to deduce from the specs given...

You may wish to check out my 6CM5 amp posted here - 6DQ6 are a beefier 6CM5 and would work well in this amp with similar bias etc.

absolutely! and they are pin compatible!!!!

I have built Grant's design (with some mods) and swap the two types in and out to suit my occasional whims...

Looks like the getter has gone white ? If that's the case, the tube is dead (it has lost its vacuum).

Yes, the tube has a small crack up the side at the bottom. I knew it was dead when I saw that white getter.

Thanks for all the replies everyone, I'm still gathering info to decide what I want to build. Anyone know what these tubes like to see for OT impedance? 5k?
