I think he was being a bit sarcastic about amps like that which are poorly designed and constructed, needing modifications and excessive maintenance to work properly.

Well, China makes everything these days and that means it spans the gamut from genuinely high-end to utter rubbish. But if it was purchased online either Paypal or your credit card will protect you. A product should work out of the box.
I don't know if someone has mentioned this in a previous post, but have you tried swapping valves (one at a time) from one to the other channel? |
