Don't throw the cap! Recycle please

Ok. Can I borrow your vary-cap after you get the exact value? Then I will send it to the next one that finsh this amp :D :D

There is one important thing that I have not considered so far before giving birth to this creature: Do you think that this 10W SE will be ok to drive my Alesis Monitor One speakers? I have null experience matching amps with speakers. They are studio reference monitors and I don't use to play at high volume. This are the specs:

- Frequency Response: 45 Hz - 20 kHz +/- 3dB

- Power Handling: 120 watts program, 200 watts peak (using EI4-426A method)

- Nominal Impedance: 4 ohms

- Sensitivity: 88 dB SPL @ 1 watt and 1 meter on axis

Alesis Monitor One MkII (I have Mk I actually)

Please, excuse me for opening a speaker's parenthesis at this thread, but I would like to build the amp with the KT88. I hope that I won't need a PP.

Thank you

Hello,

the schematic of redwine1118 come from my site http://www.ptsoundlab.com/sectubes/schemas/kt88/classakt886sn7/classa6sn7kt8811w.htm .
The sound is very very good, but capacitors and output transformers are important. Use Audyn Cap Plus or Jensen Paper Oil for capacitors. For output transformers I have used french local manufacturer.

If you want more power, I don't try it but you have the Heffa 20W http://heffa.ath.cx/heffa/

Or you can make my second amplifier, a WAD 40W I have modified, very good http://www.ptsoundlab.com/sectubes/schemas/kt88/classa40w/monclassakt8840w.htm

Cordially.

Pascal.
