Any issues with adding a grounded power cord to a Heathkit IT-17 tube tester?

I have a IT-17 tube tester and I would like to replace the power cord and ground the chassis for safety reasons.

Also, anything in the REFURBISHMENT and VERIFICATION of the HEATHKIT TT1 TUBE TESTER article by Kent Nickerson that would not apply to the IT-17?

I need to replace my power cord so I can test some NOS 0C3s that arrived in a damaged box. Damage was clearly done by the USPS and not the shipper. After I test those, I want to refurbish this tester.

Power cord can be three wire, no problem. As for testing 0C3 tubes, you don't need a tester for that, just a power supply, resistor, and voltmeter.
