Ever think of making one using the diyaudioprojects/diyparadise topology using the sipp layout? I just built one using $6 worth of tubes. I used a 6n6p for the driver so that eliminated alot of hassle. 1 it made is so i could use all 6v heaters, and 2 the driver could use the same b+ as the power tubes. I just got 10 6P14P for $20 shipped to play with. I can always spend $4 per tube and get nos 6P14P-ev with 50 volts higher plate voltage. I used a hammond AO-44 chassis so the whole thing would require zero chassis change as long as you went SS with the rectifier and put the driver tube in its place.
