Default tube rectifier question

hi,

nice drawing? the cap indicated is optional. if that cap is not included does that mean that the indicated resistor is left out too?

i have both resistors but not the optional cap and i get 0 volts at B+ but 300 volts infront of the first resistor and 150 after it.

the bottom leg goes to ground

this recitifier circuit is in a preamp

Yes. It is the cap and the resistor that make the filter. You can use a resistor there to drop the PS voltage if you want, but it does nothing to filter the DC.

Just to be perfectly clear, do you have the bottom (negative) end of the caps connected to ground? It is not shown in your drawing.
