Pharod, it should be well suited for transformer output, like a 5K:600.
In fact I recently built another C3G headphone amp with vintage Saba output transformers and regulated supplies, but it doesn't (yet) have the magic of the cap coupled one.
It just lacks part of the bottom and also still has some hiss, just didn't have the time and money to go for better opt's...

When I built the first one (the one in the second link) it sounded okay but not overwhelming... I then converted the entire psu to MKP capacitors and used Sanyo Os-con in the cathode (2 x 220uF 16V). This transformed the sonics in quite an amazing way... it is still one of my favourites.
Output caps are Siemens MKV and highly recommended, you can still find them on Epay from time to time (german bay ;))
