VR tube recommendation
I've tried multiple types of 0G3 tubes in my "Franks Ultimate Preamp"...
but holy cow... throw in a pair of Mullard gold pin 5651's and we are talking a whole another level. I absolutely cannot believe the difference... I NEVER would have thought this tube could have this much influence. I rolled all sorts of 12BH7A's, 12AX7's and 12AU7's in this preamp... I got improvements for sure...but ... nothing like the WOW I got from this VR tube. Just FYI. |

The 5651 has a tighter spec on voltage regulation, so I suppose less voltage drift is occurring.
