That may be a date code 322: Tung_Sol, 5712: 1957, week 12. Got a picture?

It seems the anode of one section comes out on pin 9
Heaters are 4/5 and pin 8

Sounds like 5687 - Tung-Sol made plenty of those... heater draw of .45A at 12V would another bit of evidence that it's a 5687.

Yes, I think you are correct, I have found a 5687 and they look identical.
Thanks for your help.

Hi, I have a similar tube labelled 3223 5708. Could it also be a 5687?

I have a bunch of these too. The 3223 is the common number the 5718 is different on each tube so I believe it is a date code. They were mixed in with a bunch of 5687's and seem to work in the same circuits. All are military pull outs and all were simply dumped together in a large box (about 40 pounds). Most of the thousands of tubes that I got in that lot were from the 1950's.

Datasheet here if you need it: http://www.mif.pg.gda.pl/homepages/f...8/5/5687WA.pdf
It's a low mu twin triode, mu = 17, transconductance = 11k

A little bit like a 12AU7 though more transconductance. If it wasn't for the funny pinout, you could try them where 12AU7s are used. You could build a pinout converter adapter if you can find a male 9 pin plug. If you have tons of them, you could build circuits that need lots of low mu twin triodes.
