Hey Everyone,

I'm building a Marantz 8b copy with a modern power supply and Acrosound TO300 output transformers. The Acrosounds are limited to 75ma per tube so that would be 600ma total. My question is, does anyone have recomendations on which would be the best output tubes to use?

The original Marantz used 6CA7's or EL 34's for a 35 watt amp. Acrosound recommended KT66, 5881, 6L6, 1614 or 807 output tubes. I'm partial to JJ tubes so the 1614 and 807's are out.

Any recomendations? The TO300 is capable of 20 watts from 20-30k and 40 watts from 30-20k I would like to be in the 35 watt neighborhood.

Kevin
