Default First Amp Build

Hi All,
I've been lurking for a while and now have the desire to try and build something.
After a bit of looking I have found a simple 3W amp design, http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...link/3WAmp.gif. This appears fairly easy and would fit my needs. Is anyone familiar with this design, any comments or any recommendations? I will be doing a turret board layout for the amp and would like some input when it is complete, any takers?

Russell

The PSU looks fairly rough to me, the rest seems... the coupled input, the small coupling cap, no gridstoppers... a little odd, I'd say.
If I were you, I'd look into

It's a project with a quite similar part count, but tested and most likely better.

well okay i see from the other thread that you've gone the other direction so really only wish of good luck from me for now.

what i did want to add for anyone else is that those 6bm8 things should be all over the place and there ought to be plenty of "proven" designs out there for anyone seeking them. in particular, i remembered something from the old svet page that seems to be reposted here under figure 2:
