CBS (broadcasting) bought Hytron, a tube maker. Don't forget that placing one's label on the product of a plant not owned, is far from a recent practice.

AFAIK the last owner of the Hytron brand was Thor Electronics in Linden NJ. They were a dealer that I did busness with up until they closed ten (?) years ago. Many "surplus" tubes went out their door with Hytron stamped on them.

Default Hytron /CBS

Check out this Flickr set:
CBS Hytron tubes - a set on Flickr

CBS/Hytron (later just CBS) seems to have gotten out of the tube business sometime in the mid 1960s.
