OPTs are going to play a part in the "look" of clipping behavior as well, but that is beyond the subject of this thread. Rather than trying to measure the sharpness of clipped wave forms with a carpenter's square in the time domain, would it be more telling to compare behaviors in the frequency domain?
Probably so. I find it useful to view both. BTW the OTL circuit we have been discussing has a soft clipping quality- despite being push pull (BTW I've not seen a P-P amp that has hard clipping either).
