Hi everyone, I'm new here, my name is Juwanto and i want to make a cd buffer using vacuum tube with very low gain because i've already use a preamp, so if i use a cd buffer with med or high gain, my power amp will override or clipping, i have some tubes like 12AX7, 12AU7, 12AT7, 6DJ8 and 6080 but i want to try with 6080 because i think it is sexy using a big tube for preamp, i hope for few suggestion and may i have its schematic? someone please help me, thank you.

6080 with a 2.5K to 600 ohm out put transformer, you will have a low gain amp

The 6080 will be a nice preamp and a winter heater.
Look for the 12b4 thread, low gain and sounds very, very neutral. |

Thanks for all, I want to ask for some question, is it possible that the 6080 tube working with low voltage (12V or 24V) ? What was the lower voltage should be and what effect will appear working with low voltage?
Thank for everyone who share with me. |

6080 is nice. I've tried this 6080 as a CF after a 6CG7 gain stage.
Yep they get damn hot and require significant heater supplies. But nice big tubes |

Why not swap a tube preamp for your current one
