Stromberg-Carlson Identification Help

Hello All,

My name is Colin and I'm doing some research to aid my Grandfather in a book he's writing about the history of live sound.

I've noticed a lot of threads related to Stromberg-Carlson products on here, so I thought maybe someone could help me identify a particular system.

My Grandfather recalls his first PA system to be built around a 30 watt, Stromberg-Carlson Preamp/Amp that was manufactured around 1955. As of now, that's all I know about it, though I thought I could ask him some more questions based on feedback here (number/type of inputs, EQ, etc)

Any hunches? Anywhere in particular I might be able to browse around? My googling didn't yield much!

I'd guess AU-32 - the most common one I've seen. Two mike inputs plus a phono input.

My site has Stromberg information: Made In Rochester - first you'll need a DjVu file viewer. I have a 1958 sound equipment catalog, but haven't been able to post it yet.

I've only owned one S-C piece of equipment, as yet unidentified. It was made for Kodak, and it's built better than a Hammond. Seems like they made great equipment to me.

Ok, so he said it had 2 mic inputs and a phono input. It sounds like the AU-32 could be correct, but he insists that it's power output was 30 watts? Was there maybe a beefier model?

Well, not quite

He said that he thinks the one that he had was newer than the AU-32 pictured on Tom's site. Does anyone know if there were newer AU-32's made in the mid to late 50's? Or perhaps it isn't an AU-32?
