Default Where To Purchase Tube Amp Parts in the UK

The subject line says it all... What are the best places to purchase parts in the UK? Im a complete beginner so just for future reference...

Can I purchase parts from America, or will the voltage difference be a problem?

Farnell? I just ordered a bunch of stuff that Mouser and Digikey didn't stock. I believe they are UK.

I get most of my basic parts from either Maplin (resistors and connectors) or Farnell (semiconductors , decoupling caps etc.), but I tend not to buy valves or film caps in the UK since they are generally rather cheaper on the continent. I have had good service from BTB in Germany and Vintage HiFi in Italy.

However, if you are looking for a specific exotic part it is worth trying Michael's Electronics Emporium - I have had good service from him, and his prices are fair.

I forgot to mention that I have had excellent dealings with Sowter, as well as with Variable Voltage Technology on the Isle of Wight, who make transformers and chokes to order.
