Many think that is a good tube. But less power than 2A3.

2A3=3 Watt (more or less)
10=1.5 Watt (more or less)

I've not heard a real 2A3 amp yet. Or a 10 for that matter. So there is nothing I can say from my own knowledge.

Basically what I know is that it is of the 01A type. And very useable and good sounding as a preamplifier tube. How many do you have? Because many I think will be microphonic and need a very quiet filament supply. So in that sense they are not ideal for a first time builder.

If you have a collection of type Ten tubes....say half a dozen or so, you can always parallel them for more output power.
OR if you know someone who has a bunch of them for cheap...this would be a good route to take.
