i have the schematic for the mesa dual rectifier 3 ch, i need help though, with pretty much everything. this is my first amp that i'm building. i really like the sound of the dual refractor.
also i'm not looking to make anything "exacly" like it. if there are way's to make it cheaper then let me know. i dont care how it looks i just want it to sound good so parts lists? curcuit ideas? what transistors? choke? anything will help so help me out here |

Not to rain on your parade or anything but I would choose a more simple amplifier for your first build. There are MANY MANY parts in a Dual Rectifier and without a printed circuit board I think it will be a very hard amp to replicate. Mesa will sell you transformers so that is the easy part. Maybe if you were to choose one channel of the Dual you could build it. Maybe a pre-packaged kit would be a better choice first time around. Randall Smith (Mesa Boogie founder) got his start modifying Fenders, so maybe a Fender clone kit you can build first and then modify as you learn. I probably have over 500 guitar amps under my belt (hand built) and I would hesitate to build the Dual without a circuit board.
