Yo Nick,
The only use in audio I actually know of was when it was used as the master bias oscillator for the old Ampex 300 tape machines. I've always considered it a junk tube. But I suppose, with the proper ratings reductions, it could be used like an 832A or 829B. The Japanese have probably made use of it at some time. They were masters at forcing oddball tubes into amplifier service. A back issue of Japan's MJ Stereo Technique (Mu-Sen-To-Zi-Ken) will probably have a circuit somewhere. I have some from the late 80s packed away in the garage, but can't easily get at them.

I seem to recall this subject being brought up earlier...

A PP stereo amp with a pair of these would sure be cute...

they just scream out "Take us to your leader!!" They'd have to be choke loaded though because "resistance is futile!"

I keep a few pair around in case a Stromberg ASR-422 shows up - 6DY7s are truly made of unobtanium...

I have a few of these "two headed aliens" I briefly cranked one up a few years ago and decided to keep them. They behave like two small sweep tubes in one bottle. No further experimentation was done.

I think that for optimum visual results the drivers should be 7193's. These are two headed alien versions of a 6J5.
