Just had another genelax reissue N709 (EL84) go.
I was happily listening, heard some distortion and then over a period of three seconds the valve went pink then started arcing badly. Luckily it hasnt taken anything with it which i am fairly amazed at, it was quite violent. out of my original batch of 4, i have lost lost 2. I wonder if its coincidence, or i have just been unlucky with a bad batch. I have used tyhem for around 7 months. I assume there would be no chance of asking the retailor for a replacement? |

Doch, try asking him. Depends how good a customer one is. Are you inserting them in/out of the holders straight and cleanly without wiggle ? (this is important)

Hi,
Seems every manufacturer over the last couple of years has had a bum batch of valves too. Maybe switch brands for a couple months? Cheers! |
