Replacing output transformer questions

I am working on a friends vibrolux reverb reissue and am thinking of replacing the output transformer. Simply becasue I have a Bassman output transformer in my room collecting dust.

This is a larger sized transformer but the output impedance and input impedance's are the same if not very similar. the Vibrolux is a 2x10 and the bassman is a 4x10. Its actually a Kendrick output transformer, so it should be pretty good I imagine.

What would I notice? A cleaner output? I dont expect more volume, just maybe more punch?

In a guitar amp, if we assume two transformers have the same impedance on both primary and secondary sides then all things equal a transformer that weighs more will have more bass.

Or more accurately, it will not roll off the bass as fast. But remember the lowest note on a guitar (with standard tuning) is 81Hz on the low open E string so low end bass is not so important as it is with HiFi. If the current transformer does not roll off the bass there may be little room for improvement. Transformers can't "add bass" they can only not roll it off.

After this main effect there may be subtle differences akin to changing coupling caps but you'd have to listen carefully. Other then bass the effect is subtle enough that people will argue about what they hear and opinions differ.
