Yeah, I really like to build things on the cheap, but I have a bunch of these loktal sockets...

hey-Hey!!!,
Never seen such a thing. You could come close to 6BX7 with a pair of 7C5( loctal analog of 6V6, wired triode ). IMO, the 7C5 pair would be the preferred sol'n. cheers, Douglas
