First time I see three transformers kissing each other. It takes two to tango but what about three?

Its not the transformers themselves, its cages.

The two "front" ones are most likely the output transformers. It's a SE stereo design from the looks of it.

I think the amp is based on a principle called STC - Super Triode Connection, where a triode is used in a feedback loop in a fashion that gives the OP-device, be it a tetrode, pentode or a transistor triode characteristics. Built one of those with ECL82. Works OK.
