Suggestion for a 2x15 or 2x20 amp?

Hi.
I have make a few passlab class A amps so now I think it's time to make a tube-amp. I also have assemble two tubeamp kits for some friends, one of them is model 16LS from tubedepot. The 16LS did not impress me much. So after a lot of search I'm still confused.
Therefore I need suggestion for a very good sounding tubeamp.

Excellent choice, but with less power

I'm surprised you got any bass with those teeny OPT's. Maybe try hooking up the amp to some better quality transformers.

How efficient are your speakers?

I don't know the efficient of my speakers. It is DIY 2-way bookshelfs.

Low powered SET may not work for you if you like to listen loud. Tough call not knowing the size of your listening room and musical taste etc.

Or if separates aren't an issue, a tube line stage in front of an SS PA

That is a very good idea, but first of all I will make the simple SE.
My project after that will maybe be an hybrid.

SE is not the simplest way to go if you expect more than a couple of watts.
Consider building a Push Pull, much easier, less costly for this range of power.

Pete Milletts latest looks good!

and a pcb makes it uber-simple. The "Engineer" uses cheap tubes, name brand iron,and the specs look right on the mark for our punter. Note the comments in his www about bass response...

It doesn't come a lot easier.

Or,

Simple SE can also give you the power your looking for if you wire it ultra-linear.
