In the circuite below what would the maxium ac output voltage using 150v b+
and a 10k load? Would I get about the same output swing if I took the output from the top of the top cathode resistor or the bottom of the cathode resistor. Thanks Woody |

How do you post a picture? I was realy talking about a 6h30 triode with 170ohm cathode resistors and the bottom cathode with a bypass cap.
thanks, Woody |

Hi,
Not familiar with the 6N30, but most SRPP, especially if high bias, can drive nails. +150V isn't a lot for a totem pole, and each section will only have ~75V across them, but that looks perfect from the specs. Anode current is rated 40mA, so 20mA through each totem would probably be a right balance for Gm, noise and tube life. Depending on the cathode voltage needed, consider using LED's for bias... their impedance and noise is low and you can lose the cathode cap. As for Vp-p out, that depends on what THD you want to take it at. Likely enough to cook a SS amp input stage before you even hit 0.5% Cheers! |

Hi Jeff,
Cyrillic 6H30 == english 6N30, correct? TDSL seems to think so: http://tdsl.duncanamps.com/tubesearch2.php?TSD=6N30 Cheers! |

Yes that would be correct. Sorry, not trying to confuse the issue.

Thanks for the feedback. But I would still like to know what the output
voltage would be at clipping. |
