Default Connecting the heater to the cathode in rectifier tube

I read that someone was planning to do that? What would be the reason for doing something like that? Maybe something to do with the heater cathode insulation?

Got it in one! It ensures you definitely don't exceed the max heater-to-cathode voltage rating.

But it also imposes the cathode voltage onto the heater transformer winding.

This is not usually a problem but needs checking.
