6EM7, 6LU8 and 6LR8 make some nice SE amps and I think they all like about 5K on the output plates. If you have the right iron would make for some nice 1-3W spuds. 6LR8/6LU8 is discussed in detail here.

I am using something like this for my integrated amp project. Any of these could also be used PP if desired.

You could try something like this.

I love the sound and if you have 2 6V6's or similar around you should be OK

Tryied with a 220/9V halogen lamp transformer, and a 8 ohm speaker. Sounds like an EL84. About 2-3 watt of power. I think that any 220/9V EI power supply transformer, will work.
