Are any of you familiar with this beast and what the applications might be? It looks like it would be good for preamplifiers, MC step-up, headphone amplifiers, and extremely small power amplifiers.
I did some searches but came up empty on designs that are out there...and decided to ask the group.

For a signal tranny 600ohm-10K or vice-versa, the A dimension of this pot is given at 97mm....I find this way too big compared to the smaller, more practical dimensions offered by other vendors. The trade off is frequency range.
On this side of the pond: the Sowter 3575 and others is a compromise of frequency, size and cost.
