Sourcing Chassis Access Panels
Hello,
I recently found an old ad for some very nice rear access panels that were leftover from the manufactual of some kind of monoblock amplifier. These were about 2.5" x 7" , aluminum with holes cut for the IEC plug, fuse socket, RCA, and binding posts. They are unfortunately appearently out of business now and I cannot order any from there. I frequently build all kinds of amplifiers and very tediously have been making my own similar panels to mount my inout/output, etc onto the wooden chassis I build. Building these things from hand is very time consuming, impercise, and frustrating. I have longed to find a source or pre-made panels like this (at least with the square IEC socket cut out) to simplify my project assemblys. Does anybody here know of a souce of a panel like I have described or similat, particularly with the IEC hole cut into it? A source for these would be awesome. Another consideration would be having them custom manufactured, but again, I would have no idea where to begin with something like this. I know there should be somebody somewhere (China) that could build some simple machined plates of aluminum, steel, or other material to my specs.....but who and where do you go about finding this type of service (other than going to a forum like this and playing dumb)?
Again thanks in advance, everybody on this forum has in some way or another been of great benefit. I hope I can return the favors in some way someday.
Sincerely,
Jeff
