Default Resistor pack for tube amp

At times, it is very frustrating to wait for resistors to arrive and in the midst of mod, it is mad to find 1 resistor short.

Can I know what is the resistor kit to start with from e.eg Farnell site.

The resistors kit shall include carbon comp and metal film (for digital as well)

For experimentation, I'd suggest getting some metal film resistors. They're easy to find. If you want to swap them out with boutique resistors later you can still do that.

I got my resistor kit on eBay. For $18 (shipping included) I got 50 pcs of each value in the range of 1 ohm to 10 Mohm. It wasn't a standard E12 set, but close enough. I bet the resistors are factory rejects. They seem to have some cosmetic flaws here and there, but the resistance is within the specified 1 % according to my 6-digit multimeter....

Just do a search for resistor kit and you shall find...

I've been tempted by those metal resistor kits available on eBay. One thing I'd like to know is if the 1/2 watt parts are rated for 350 volts? The auction specs never include the voltage ratings, which is pretty important.

I would appreciate if you can provide us the link. So afraid that we got the wrong kit from the wrong guy. I think metal oxide is fine for tube amp as a begining.

The kit shall include 1/2W, 1W and 2W metal oxide.
