I could almost put this under the current EL34 debate, but the question/tube is somewhat different.
A year ago I learned about the special issue of a Tung-Sol 6L6GC STR. Apparently this is a special construction replica (yet again! ... also yet again the usual proclamations regarding its superiority....). At a price, of course. Thus I would like to learn of other members' experiences with these, especially whether it lasts at near maximum ratings. I looked inside one and did find the construction abnormally rugged, neat consistent spot-welding, etc. (And how did I manage this? I accidently cracked one ) I did take a few into maximum regions and they behaved well, but a few are hardly good statistics. Many thanks |
