K-12 with headphones?

Hey all,

I own one of the old K-12 tube amp kits from S-5 Electronics, and I was wondering if there was any way I could convert it to a headphone amp. I am kind of needing to use headphones lately because of space/moving/college/etc... issues so it would be great to see what I could do with those 8 watts. If anyone has any suggestions that would be awesome! I am probably going to be using some middle-road Grado's.

What kind of tube?
And what kind of ampl. ....OTL or with OT for headphones?

1 watt would probably blow the headphones off your head.

Well, maybe not, but it would probably damage them. That sort of PP amp is way too powerful and the output transformers are intended for 8ohm speakers. Unless perhaps if your driving a pair of old Stax.

You would likely do better to slap together a Starving Student or a Morgan Jones if on a tight budget.

What if I modify the circuit and take out the OT's? Or reduce the wattage somehow..... there has got to be a way to create a headphone amp with these parts....
