Frank's 6SN7 line stage / preamp with GlassWare PS-1?

Has anyone built Frank's 6SN7 line stage with GlassWare's PS-1 voltage regulator kit? If not, what do you think about this combination? PS-1 can supply both B+ and filament heater.

By the way, this schematic shows 2 different design (top vs bottom).

How should I interpret this?

In the top schematic, the voltage amp half of the 6SN7 is capacitor-coupled to the cathode follower half. In the bottom schematic, the VA is direct-coupled to the CF. The latter has the advantage of eliminating a capacitor from the circuit and may yield better sound.

Can this circuit drive a single-ended 6550...I have a one stage 6sn7 before the output tube at 5k.I feed 2 volts and it could take much more.the sound is feable at that voltage. Amp circuit from audio xpress sept.2001
