Some interesting reading about Sweep tubes
I was doing a little searching for some info on some 6JS6 tubes I have laying around and stumbled across this,
http://lists.contesting.com/_amps/2004-06/msg00132.html 1200 volts on them plates! Now thats pushing the limit that even George would be proud of!
