When I built my 2A3 Loftin-White I ordered 3K Pri with single 4ohm secondary OPT's from Electra-Print as at the time, I had 4ohm Klipsch speakers that I thought I'd never get rid of, well I got rid of them & now have 8ohm speakers. Seems to sound okay, but can't help wondering if I should order new OPT's with 8ohm secondary.

If I got this right, I'm essentially loading the 2A3 with an effective 6K load with the consequences of:

Less power
less distortion
less amplifier output impedance

I suppose there's more to it than that as speaker impedance is usually all over the place.
