6336A Single Ended.

I have a stereo amp running a single 6336A in SE.

Running 175v on the plates, cathode biased with 35v on the cathode
and 175ma per triode, the amp is working fairly well.

I have no experience with these finals and I'm wondering if anyone is
would they care to share where there running them/comment on mine?

I'm not use to running this much current but at <25w of plate diss I am
in line I think with not beating the tubes up?

(Yes I am on the lookout for some 6528A subs)

hey-Hey!!!,
Between the T-S and Raytheon data sheets I'd say the reasonable cathode current under the plate dissipation limits would be ~250 mA/plate. They suggest watching out for grid resistance-induced troubles, and IIRC you've got grid chokes in your circuit so that is covered. T-S says the 6336 can replace up to 3 type 6080's.

I built a cap-coupled plate-follower OTL for the 800 ohm Norelco drivers using the paralleled halves of a 6336; your operating point is almost exactly where I ran the tube (adjusted for the fact that I utilized paralleled sections).

FWIW: I thought the 6528 sounded very mediocre compared to the 6336.

Thanks for the info guy's!

I did get the amp hooked up to some decent speaks and it sounds
pretty nice, a very "strong" sounding single ended amp indeed here.
