Just wondering if there is a nine pin version (same base as a 12AX7) that is close to a 6sj7.
Any info will be appreciated |

hey-Hey!!!,
First one I think of is the EF86. There will be others of course, but the TDSL search f'n can locate EF86 alternatives I think. cheers, Douglas

5879 is the first that comes to my mind, also an RCA design. It was commonly used as a low-level preamp, as was 6SJ7.

In guitaramps 6SJ7 and 5879 sound more alike than 6SJ7 and EF86. Ef86 is a little more forward sounding.

Also, like 6sj7, 5879 like to be microphones as well as microphone preamps.
