Hi Ray ,

Correct , correct and correct . I agree entirely , with you.
Damper tubes can make an excellent and reliable power supply .

I can recommend :

6BY5GA ( double ) , 6AU4 and 6DE4 - about 170 mA

6AX4 and 6AX5 - about 120 mA

6AX5 is a normal rectifier , not a TV damper.
The rest is correct !!

Thanks guys. I`ve picked up a couple of 6cj3s to work with and will probably build a ss bridge followed by a 6cj3 to give me a slow soft start and lower the voltage a touch.
