How much current will the 6as7g draw running at 150V in this circuit. I looked at the data sheets but just want to have you guyz reconfirm it for me. At around 150V it looks like it will need 20mA, is this about right?

Need to see if a 190V-0-190V 65mA transformer will do the job.

If you're opting for a circuit like this one you're still going to have to burn off a lot of volts...that idea may heat your room in the winter but it's a bit overkill won't you say?

Hi,

Just kidding but...a lot will depend on the voltage drop of your rectifier tube AND the value of the dropping resistor.

Either way you're going to dissipate alot of heat with that PT.

Actually, you can use that PT to feed each channel independently and still arrive at the desired B+.
It wil double component count at that stage though but I would certainly prefer that to the other solution.
