Default HeathKit W-2: Missing Tube

Hello,

This is a great sounding amp, but I could use help identifying what tube needs to go in the missing spot.

Pictures are here:

Heathkit W2

I have the schematics from a forum search, but still can't figure it out.

Thanks for your time.

You are not missing any tubes. The W2 uses 2 6SN7 and 2 5881, and you have all 4 tubes .

Back in the old days octal sockets were often used as connectors for power supplies etc.

I believe that is the case for this amp, although I have never owned one and I dont have a picture of one connected correctly for a W2. But the Heath W3 dual chassis amp does use the octal socket in that location as the power supply connection.
Here is a picture

It appears from your pictures that this amp has been modded and the power supply is hard wired into the amp. Maybe a previous owner did not like the octal connector.
