Default 6550 drive question

I am going to build an amp based on the an kit2. Se6550. I noticed it is nearly identical to the kit1 (except for the srpp driver tube)

It got me wondering if a 6550 could be driven from the same driver stage used on a 300b/2a3 circuit. I have heard a really nice 300b amp using a 6en7 driver and thought it would be cool to try that driver with the 6550.

I am not real familiar with the 6550 so I'm not sure of the drive requirements.
