Hello
I am designing a mic preamp, having all the stages transformer coupled and single ended, without any negative feedback.
I am planning to use 3 stages of parallel 6sn7, as i like its sweet and smooth sound. Has anyone ever tried this type of configuration and any problem related to this type of design.

I have not tried that configuration, however a friend had decent results with a Gyraf Audio mic pre. For info on that (and a schematic) go here and look in the diy-projects section for G9 micpre:

Good luck,

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Enjoy,
i have made those types of preamps but i want to try this all transformer coupled preamp. I am little confused for selecting the right tube and transformers. I have tried the circuit with sowter interstage, line output and microphone input transformer. Its sounding quite close to what i want. But the preamp is little thick sounding in the midrange i don,t know if this is due to the transformer or the tube.
Has anybody tried the lundahls.
