Default High quality matching panel meters?

Having a hard time finding matching VU, mA (for bias), VDC (for B+) meters for the next project(s) - 56 linestage, JE Labs phono, separate P/S's and a pair of 6B4G PP monos with a separate PS...have 90% of the parts lined up but i can't start cutting until i know what meters i'm going to use...

Retro/art deco style would be cool, but i'm open. Need to be hi quality and no plastic!

Many thanks

No plastic? Then these $7.95 panel meters are out... http://www.mpja.com/prodinfo.asp?number=17252+ME

Fair Radio has a few: http://www.fairradio.com/catalog.php...ategoryid=3985

I posted a couple of photo's of panel meters that I obtained and then modified from fairradio. They are high quality units.

As a post script, the photo's are low resolution. The markings on the face are clean and precise, not slightly blurred as seen in the photo....

Thanks guys!

Found another interesting site,
http://www.electro-meters.com/Gossen...ffn_series.htm

the Gossen, Triplett, and Yokogawa look pretty cool - the round mil-specs and Edgewise in particular. Perhaps they will do custom Vu as well, i'll ask.

I'm guessing around $100/ea x 9 meters, not cheap but less than i thought....

Weber just started selling a kit with two
retro meters to monitor the bias and b+.
Inexpensive and looks pretty cool.

Assuming you had the money to blow, what meters (grid, dc, vu, etc) would you guys include in your preamps/PSs/amps/RIAAs - if any?

Is there a danger of introducing unwanted effects from monitoring these various readings?

Here is what I did one project Piccie. This includes a meter for setting the cathode current of the finals. It makes it more convenient for setting the Q-Point current, and especially for getting these currents equal. I picked up a NOS 100uA DC meter (possible aircraft meter?) and recalibrated to read 0 -- 100mA with the 10R current sense resistors in each cathode lead.

I haven't had any problems with this, though did include an on-off-on toggle switch that could disconnect the meter completely in case it did have some adverse effect. I just leave it on.
