Default amp dead?

well i'm still working on the problem thought i'd figured it out but guess not. i had to literally pry one of the 6l6 tubes out of the socket, there was all kinds of hard tacky looks like pine rosin all over the bottom of the tube. thought a capacitor had went out but that aint it. could this stuff come from the tube? anyway i was cleaning it off of the tube base and pins when the center pin broke loose. it's still attached but will this cause a problem? thanks for everyones help.

Any transformers nearby? And is this stuff also all over the board? Wondering if the stuff came from somewhere less obvious like from an output or power transformer and ran across the pcb..

Ought to have posted to your existing thread rather than starting a new one.

Perhaps a mod could combine this with the existing thread here:
