Default AES out of 1625?

Wow, I always thought this was going to be a great deal for DIYers forever... Are these things about to shoot up in price? I seem to remember tales of companies not being able to give those things away. What's next, 16gk6s?

I sold over 100 of those to Stan at ESRC (Tube Center) for cheap late last year. He probably has some.

1625s ain't that hard to get still ,and they're cheap. It's the 807s that have been going up in price, though to be honest, there are Chinese new stock units available for the 807.

Oh I have some, I was just distressed that one of the big boys has sold out of them and was wondering which DIY stalwart would be next...

I would expect that AES would restock, as there is still a lot of stock floating around - probably warehouses full. This tube was used in a lot of WWII airborne transmitters. I doubt any of the stock I have on hand is any younger than the '50s
