Hey there.
Apparently I have to post a few times before I can send a private email message. So here goes. I have replaced all capacitors and resistors inside of my Quads. Tubes are Svetlana 6L6GC's, Svetlana EF 86's, and GZ32's I just pulled these back out of storage and would like to insure that everything is correct before I decide to use them again. I am not interested in substantial modifications, just what may be required to make them work as well as possible. I will attempt to run a pair of Magnepan MMG's which are inefficient and have a fairly flat impedance of 4 ohms. They may not have the grunt, but I'll give it a try anyway. Would any of you experienced Quad II guys like to chime in with a general "check this, replace that, keep an eye out for this post?" Could this possibly turn into a thread that will cover all bases for Quad II owners? |
