Hi
I just picked up four NOS 1626's dated 1942 for peanuts & as my vintage speakers run very loud with a 3W 6B4G amp I'm considering having a go at a <1W Darling as my first point to point build using this schematic:

I'm planning to use the small 5K 15ohm Edcor OPTX I have left over from another project & a NOS svetlana 5U4 from the junkbox. Ideally I would like to recycle an Edcor Power tx I have spare...it's an XPWR106-240 550V 125mA Center Tapped (2* 275v and a CT) & 6.3V 4A. The schematic calls for 240v ...is this power tx any use for this project, I know I would need a separate heater transformer. I am slowly learning but my first 2 amps (which amazingly work well) were both built off PCB's & had manuals!

would it be better decoupling the supply ? (of first tiode)

(anodic current of 6SJ7 are filtered by 8uF Cap. and 25K resistor)
bye
