Default Morgan Jones KT88 PP

Hello Chaps,

Has anyone built the Morgan Jones KT88 PP on page 314 of VA 2nd edition?

I've seen only the 3rd edition. And it alluded to another book as-if
they might be a set? The book I saw (in basement library at UTA)
was almost entirely practical wisdom in regard to constructing and
testing the amplifier, and had very little on valve circuit theory.

I don't recall seeing any KT88 schematic, but my time with the book
was brief. I was not an enrolled student, so checking the book out
or obtaining a photocopier account wasn't really an option.

It was definitely titled Morgan Jones' Valve Amplifiers...
TK7871.58 A9 J66 2004, if it might help you finding it.

Edition I found was at Neederman Hall, not the main UTA library.
I was only there for one week of National Instruments training...
And its over now, but mabey someone else lives close to UTA
could check into it further.

Is this the same one as on P.247 on MJs' first edition?
It's described as "Balanced input amplifier using differential pair and balanced feedback", output power noted as 30W into 8 Ohms.

Yes, it appears on p247 of the 1st edition and page 314 of the 2nd edition.
It is absent from the 3rd edition as Mr. Peter points out.

The output stage appears to be based on the GEC '88-50'

I would happily scan and post the circuit, but I would assume this would be an infringement of copyright?
If a moderator could please advise?

Yes, it would. I'll email Morgan to see how he feels about it; if he grants permission, I'll let you know.

You're right, I didn't think that far. However, I'd be happy just to have a look at it directly (not posted) as I'm curious and it's for educational purposes, which is legal here to the best of my knowledge. I have purchased both BVA and VA - 3.

However, I will respect Morgan's wishes either way.

Thanks to you both.

If E810F is still willing, I'd still like to see it. Cheers
