Posted this on AA, but did not receive any answer yet.
I am doing some thinking about doing a linestage consisting of 1/2 6463 and 1 12b4a in a srpp config. Bring on comments Is it doable, smart or not smart?Have some of these tubes laying around you see... PSU is delivering between 250v-280v Will scetch out a circuit in some days I guess. Sincerely |

Ok folks.
Since I am a truly beginner when it comes to circuit designs, feedback and advice would be appreciated. What do you think of this design? It is the first version. 6463 is almost the same as 5687. BTW. I came across a circuit called the "mini monkey" which seems a bit interesting. It is mentioned in this thread Serious case of brain fry. You out there Thorsten? Schematic is here: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/attac...amp=1170462812 So, do I really need the grid resistor (910ohm) from the 6463 to 12b4? Sincerely |

BTW. The psu I am using is a tube regulated (ecl82) from AN. It is supposed to be quite good, and I am therefore thinking about an ultrapath connection.
This article got me thinking http://www.tubecad.com/2008/08/blog0147.htm Sincerely |

Hi,
You shouldn't use dissimilar tube halves in a SRPP config to begin with or it won't be an SRPP anymore. Cheers,
